Vintage Paddle Morse Key On A Paxolin Base

This unusual looking device is a Vintage Paddle Morse Key On A Paxolin Base. It comprises a solid ferrous and non-ferrous metal straight key mounted on a Paxolin base with a paxolin paddle.

I can't find any other with this particular design, and I think it is possibly home made dating to the 1940s/50s.

Approximate measurements:
* length (including paddle): 19cm
* Base Width: 10.2cm
* Base Length:- 17cm
* Total Height: approx. 6cm

It is in fairly good used condition with some discolouration of the metal, rust, and surface scuffs/scratches. The paxolin base is scratched with a few chips.
