Admiralty Pattern 4959 White Porcelain Electrical Insulator Made by Taylor Tunnicliff & Co

This unusual object is a Vintage, High voltage, Admiralty Pattern 4959 White Porcelain Electrical Insulator Made by Taylor Tunnicliff & Co. They used to be found on wired poles carrying high voltages.

This particular corrugated porcelain insulator was Made in England by Taylor Tunnicliff & Co for the Admiralty. Their logo is printed near the top of the insulator beneath AP.4959. It has a brass insert with screw fitting and four grooves.

It is in very good condition and looks to have never been used.

Insulators are pretty tactile. They are quite heavy and make fantastic paperweights! Quite a talking point for the office desk!
